Happy Halloween with MFT ghosts

Love these cute little ghosts from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and embossed with glow-in-the-dark embossing powder from WOW! It works great.

Frame is from Mama Elephant, Grid Window, grassy border from Lawn Fawn and the background is done with Distress Oxides.

Home made wine bottle tags for Halloween

Homemade wine bottle tags done with a tag die from Sizzix. I cut the stitched circle with a die from My Favorite things. The stenciling is done with Distress ink and a stencil from Tim Holtz. The stamped images are from Lawn Fawn Happy Howl-o-ween stamp set.

The background is done with Distress re-inkers, hence the really intense tone of that sunset. Stamps are from Lawn Fawn Happy Howl-o-ween.

Witch way is the candy?

Wanted to try out the Daniel Smith dot chart that I got from Simon Says stamp recently. Turned out that it was a lot harder than I thought. In the end it turned out ok but I need lots more practise. My little daughter was at least happy to receive this card for Halloween though *big smile*

Circle ink blending with silhouettes

A lot of inspiration comes from what I see on Pinterest and other blogs. This circle ink blending was one of them. I wanted to try out several silhouette stamps from Lavinia and thought this design would really lift those silhouettes. And since it's Halloween soon, this was really fitting with that theme.

I started out by die cutting a circle out of a scrap piece of paper and then used the negative space as a stencil. I used several color combinations of Distress inks for the different circles, at least two colors per circle. I also used a Post-it note to mask out a moon.

On the top two left images I used chunky embossing powder to create fairy dust and the ground. Want to try more of those =)

The sentiment on these two are from an MFT stamp set.

A Halloween Hello

I got some serious happy mail on Friday when my order from Simon Says Stamp arrived *big smile*. One of the sets I had ordered was the super cute My Favorite Things stamp "Witch way is the candy" and I got to coloring that right away. The colors are inspired by this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge which is using orange, beige/brown and black.

I stamped the images with Versafine onyx black ink and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The panel is then diecut with MFTs Wonky stitched rectangle die and mounted on a black cardbase.

Happy howl-o-ween slider card

Another Halloween card. I was on a roll last weekend =)

I masked off a moon with a diecut circle and then colored the background with distress inks and sprayed some shimmer mist on it. The critters are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The dies are all Lawn Fawn except for the small trees which are My Favorite Things. The dogs and pumpkin are from Happy Howloween. The little stars are cut with a die from glitter paper and glued on.

I had a hard time fitting my sentiment anywhere so I decided to try and make a slider card.

This is the finished slider, "Happy Howl-o-ween" =)

No tricks, just treats - kitty and dog halloween slider card

I'm not really a big Halloween fan (we don't really "celebrate" it where I live) but making Halloween cards turned out to be a lot of fun. Here is the second one created last weekend.

Halloween kitty and dog slider card

I spent the passed weekend coloring critters and doing backgrounds and now I'm finally ready. Here comes a Halloween boo from me;

The dies are all Lawn Fawn except for the small trees which are My Favorite Things. The dog and pumpkin is from Happy Howloween and the kitty is from Meow you doin. I couldn't resist putting him in the pumpkin, just too cute =)

Halloween Newton in purple

I wanted to make one more card for this version of the Inky Paws challenge and use more of the color purple;

I used a stamp from Newton's Holiday Mischief where he's wearing a scarf since I don't have any Halloween stamps, it at least looks a bit fall like *smile*.

I wanted to try out colored pencil just to test a different coloring medium. I borrowed my 5-year olds gigantic pencil set (the only one I had available) and tried it on this little cute Newton. For Newton I used tones of orange and brown and for his scarf black and purple. To get the white in the card I made a moon background in tones of purple with distress ink on Canson watercolor paper. I also sprayed it with some shimmer spray for a starry effect... I finished it off with a black panel cut with a new Lawn Fawn die (Little town border) where I have layed in orange glow in the windows.

The kitty is mounted on foam tape for a little dimension. I finished off with a few sequins. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set Monster Mash.

Halloween Newton in orange

It's time for a new Inky Paws challenge and this time it's color themed;

Definitely Halloween colors. Since I don't have any Halloween stamps, I picked one from Newton's Holiday Mischief where he's wearing a scarf, it at least looks a bit fall like *smile*.

I wanted to try out colored pencil just to test a different coloring medium. I borrowed my 5-year olds gigantic pencil set (the only one I had available) and tried it on this little cute Newton. It's very different trying to blend the different colors compared to for example watercolor. Definitely need to test it more. For Newton I used tones of orange and for his scarf black and purple. To get the white in the card I made a moon background in tones of orange with distress ink on Canson watercolor paper. I also sprayed it with some shimmer spray but unfortunately that doesn't show up in the photos... I finished it off with a black panel cut with a new Lawn Fawn die (Little town border).

The black panel is mounted on fun foam to get some dimension. The kitty is also mounted on foam tape. I finished off with a few sequins and also a little black and white bakers twine. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set Monster Mash.

Vem gömmer sig där?

Fick för mig att göra ett lite Halloween-inspirerat kort. Gjorde en svart kortbas som jag sedan gjorde ett hjärta med en Sizzix die. Använde sedan en Sizzix embossingfolder för att få lite "stjärnhimmel". På insidan så har jag färgat en misse genom en härlig stencil jag köpte häromdagen. Jag har använt Black Soot Distress ink.

Tanken från början var att man skulle se båda missens ögon (det var så jag skar till bilden) men så upptäckte jag att det blev lite mer "läskigt" när man bara såg ena ögat. Tyvärr blev ju då bilden inte centrerad på insidan som det var tänkt men jag fick lösa det på bästa sätt *smile*. La sedan till ett kort på ovansidan så man har någonstans att skriva en hälsning. Framsidan fick även en banner med ett heat embossat "boo".

När man öppnar kortet så ser man en söt misse.

Nu börjar jag förstå varför man kanske inte ska använda sig av svart embossing-pulvar i förhållande till clear... Jösses vad det svarta pulvret kom precis överallt... Nåja, övning ger färdighet antar jag.
