Homemade wine bottle tags done with a tag die from Sizzix. I cut the stitched circle with a die from My Favorite things. The stenciling is done with Distress ink and a stencil from Tim Holtz. The stamped images are from Lawn Fawn Happy Howl-o-ween stamp set.

Inky Paws Challenge - sketch challenge

Time for another Inky Paws Challenge and this time it's a sketch challenge. Loved this sketch and made several cards.

Found a really cute snowflake pattered paper and used an idea from one of the DT members to use something else as the "circle" and chose a Christmas tree. This is how my cards turned out.

The christmas tree is a die from Poppy stamps. The patterned paper is Maja Design. All the kitties are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers on Bristol Smooth paper.

This one is not really part of the challenge but made at the same time as the others. The snow flake are Sizzix Tim Holtz dies. The Christmas tree is colored with distress ink Victorian Velvet and Vintage photo.

Inky Paws Challenge #58 - Sketch challenge

Ink smooshing, stenciling and stamping

I got the inspiration from a gorgeous card on Instagram. It had some gorgeous colors that I wouldn't immediately have put together myself so I got out my distress inks and went to town.

I started by smooshing ink onto a laminated sheet I have. I used; Cracked pistachio, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and a bit of Chipped Saphire. I sprayed them with water and pressed my watercolor paper into it. I dried it with a heat tool and then pressed it in again where I wanted more color. I did it several times.

Then it was time for some stenciling. I used two different Tim Holtz stencils with some Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink. I used a makeup applicator to dab on the ink.

Then I chose a couple of stamps that I wanted to use; sheet music and a text stamp and stamped that Distress Ink Chipped Saphire. I also used a texture stamp (little dots) with Versacolor silver pigment ink.

Then it was time to stamp the flowers using Distress Ink Dusty Concord. I used two different flowers from a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp set with flowers.

I finished the cards off with sentiments from Gummiapan heat embossed in white.

The cards are then mounted on a dark grey cardbase.

Loved how they turned out!

Dark cardstock outline with one colored flower

A while ago I got a flower stamp set from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz and decided to try it out with this tecnique; heat embossing/watermarking on dark cardstock and then adding one colored item on top.

I colored the flowers with Distress Inks and then added some glitter enamel dots/white pearls as a finishing touch.

I left the cards without a sentiment (wishes from my mom who wanted to be able to use them for "whatever" *smile*).

More inspiration taken from Pinterest and then finally getting a full morning to myself and putting it together =)

For this one, I used a cute tree die set from My Favorite Things. The landscape stiched border and the rectangle stiched frame is from Lawn Fawn. Also the paper is Lawn Fawn, love that paper!!

Here I wanted to try out ink smooshing with some color combinations that I hadn't tried before; Cracked pistachio, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and a bit of Chipped Saphire. I stamped the images with Chipped Saphire, Dusty Concord and also a Versacolor in Silver. A bit of Hera Arts white ink was also used through a Tim Holtz stencil. The sentiments are from Gummiapan. Loved how it came out!

Sunset city scape

I got this die from Marianne Design quite a while ago in a sale and have been wanting to try it out. I wanted to create a sunset background so I started out with ink smooshing a watercolor paper with distress inks. Then I placed the Tim Holtz sunset stencil on and applied some glossy texture paste. It didn't completely turn out as I had envisioned but it was fun to try.

I finished up by assembling the pieces with a black frame cut with Lawn Fawn dies. The sentiment is also from Lawn Fawn.

Penguin party

I wanted to participate in Lawn Fawnatics latest challenge which is Black, white and bright and immediately thought of the penguin stamp set to use. However, that is a winter themed one and I couldn't really think of a way to make it in to spring/summer so I simply went with holiday theme and a real penguin party!

I stamped the images on to water color cardstock and colored them in with Zig clean color real brush markers. The tree is a solid stamp so that is stamped with Twisted citron Distress ink and the stump is colored with a brown Zig. The background is done with distress inks and some masking. I did the rays with a Tim Holtz stencil and sponging. Then I heat embossed with Holographic embossing powder. I finished of the sky with some Nuvo glitter drops.

Embrace your inner kitten

Over at Inky Paws challenge, the assignment this time is to "use a doily". I'm not really a doily-kind of person but I still wanted to play so....

I pulled out the closest thing to a doily that I have in my stash with turned out to be a stencil ("Lace") from Tim Holtz. I masked off a piece of Canson XL water color paper and ink blended Cracked pistachio and Mermaid lagoon on to it. Then I placed the stencil over and went back in with the same colors for a bit of a more interesting background.

 I then chose to play with the cute stamp set Newton Unwinds. Here Newton has tangled himself up in balls of yarn. It's so cute. I had also just got some Bristol Smooth cardstock to test so I stamped on that and then colored with my Zig clean color real brush markers. Boy did they go on smooth. One has to use a bit of a different technique compared to the other water color papers I tried. Need to play more *smile*.

This is then the finished piece with the sentiment heat embossed in white on a black strip of card.

Inky Paws challenge #45 - use a doily

Sending you sparkles, rainbow ponies

I saw the challenge on Cupcake Inspirations and had to play along. The theme for this one was "Mystical" and this was the inspiration image:

So, I pulled out my stamp set from the Greeting farm and colored some ponies with my Zig clean color real brush markers. I then fuzzy cut them out and painted around them with a black pen to hide the somewhat imperfect cut *smile*

I then also got to play with my new stencil from Tim Holtz and made a "rainbow" sunset with Distress inks and an ink blending tool. I added some clouds using Lawn Fawn's puffy cloud border. The sentiment is heat embossed with gold embossing powder. As a last finishing touch, I also added some sequins.

Hjärtan och stjärnor - Tim Holtz inspirerad

Sista tiden har jag varit helt uppslukad av Tim Holtz designer. Han hade ett antal "Facebook Live" innan den stora mässan Creativation 2017 där han visade sina produkter som han kommer ut med i år. Blev helt begeistrad och började kolla in hans blogg som är full av inspiration. Stort misstag, många timmar har gått åt *smile*

Jag hittade mängder med tekniker jag ville prova men började med "monoprint". Du kan kolla in Tims alster här. Man använde ink på en stencil som man sedan sprayade med vatten och "tryckte" mot vattenfärgspapper. I nedan exempel så använde jag en stencil från 13Arts med hjärtan på. Tyckte det var så himla kul att testa med olika färger, olika mängd vatten och olika mönster.


Såg även ett kort på Pinterest med stjärndesign och bestämde mig för att använda det som inspiration för att sätta ihop det hela. Använde Tim Holtz "Small talk" som sentiments (vad heter det egentligen på svenska... hälsningar....?!).

Sedan heat embossade jag stjärnor i guld och använde mig av en mängd die cut stjärnor i olika storlekar. Vissa stansade jag ut mitten på så den blev ihålig. De olika korten är ihopsatta med olika höjd för att få lite liv och variation. Kortbasen är i "kraft cardstock" som är stämplad med olika stämplar. Bakom den stora stjärnan är det även dekorerat med ett rosa juteband.

Alla tre varianterna.

Har lagt med det här kortet i Simon Says stamps Wednesday Challenge; Anything goes

Stockholm Scrapmässa och Träff

Anmälde mig för jättelänge sedan att komma och shoppa på Stockholm Scrapmässa och Träff och 1 oktober var det äntligen dags. När jag väl kom dit så insåg jag att det hade ju varit himla kul att kommit dit och pysslat hela dagen också. Det får vi ta nästa gång. Vad grejor folk hade med sig!! Vissa kom in med största resväskorna.

Jag passade iallafall på att i lugn och ro botanisera bland shoppingen hos de 4 butikerna; KiAs Butik, Scraplagret, Scrapdraken och Fru Limegrön. Det blev en rejäl "scrap-haul". Jobbigt när det finns så mycket trevligt. Men, jag fick iallafall köpt lite av de grejorna jag saknat, som en riktig "heat tool" istället för att använda takläggarvärmepistolen... Passade också på att köpa papper, några designerblock och en omgång med svart vanligt papper. Det var verkligen UNDERBARA papper från Pion design. Har inte sett dem live innan och inte kunde jag låta bli dem!!

Sedan blev det en stämpel av  ett träd från Lavinia stamps, två högar med katter och elefanter från Art Impressions och en underbar omgång med olika dies som jag saknat; svenska textdies från Roxstamps (God Jul x 2 och Kram) samt tags, en från Nellies och en från Sizzix samt två renar (jultema på g) och en ursöt datom med några clearstamps till.

Efter jag var färdigshoppad på mässan så tog jag också en sväng förbi Penstore.se och investerade i Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, 36 färger plus 2. Har varit jättesugen jättelänge och nu så blev det av. Tyckte dessutom de hade bra pris (lika som att köpa från Amazon + frakt och tull). Sist blev det ett stopp på Pyssloteket där det blev Lawn Fawns "Snow cool" stamp set med tillhörande dies och ytterligare ett med en sköldpadda (Year xxx) med dies.

En riktig scrap haul alltså!!

Första försöket med Distress Inks

Dags för första försöket med Distress Inks. Testade med två olika typer av papper;

• Water color paper 
• Tim Holz special stamping paper 

Snacka om att de reagerade olika beroende på vad man gjorde. Jag testade dels mini ink blending tool direkt, detta med vatten tillagt. Testade även att lägga distress på ett akrylblock och spraya med vatten och dra över pappret. Tog också fram en stencil med snöflingor och testade med både mini ink blending tool och med penslar. Penslar var absolut bäst här. Verkade som mini ink blending tool fungerade på Tim Holz papper och penslar/akrylblock fungerade vattenfärgspappret.

Det syns på resultatet att jag har lite mer övning kvar innan det är något jag egentligen vill visa upp men det är kul att prova.
