Sublime birthday shaker

Used one of my ink smooshed backgrounds to create this shaker card. I used a Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle and also a rectangle to create the frame. The frame is popped up with foam tape and the panel is inset.

 I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color my images. Some are inside the shaker and some on the clear plastic piece. I used some sequins from Neat and Tangled to fill it up. Love the sound of a shaker card =)

Kitty birthday shaker card

Today is the birthday of a kitty loving friend and this is the card I made for her. The square die as well as the Little cat agenda stamp set is from Mama Elephant. The sentiment on the inside comes from Lawn Fawn's Tiny tags birthday sentiments. The die cut letters are from Marianne Design.

Grand maple leaves

Fall is upon us and now was the perfect time to bring out the grand maple leaf die from Simon Says stamp.

I started by inking two panels, one on Canson watercolor paper and one on Ranger's woodgrain paper. I used distress inks in Candied apple, Spiced marmalade, Fossilized amber and Crushed olive. When I was happy with how the panels looked, I spritzed them with some water and dabbed up the drops with a paper towel. When everything was dry I die cut the grand maple leaf and now had the basis for 4 cards.

For the leaves I decided on the above design. I die-cut the two panels with Hero Arts rectangle die. I heat embossed the gold specks with chunky gold embossing powder. The sentiment is heat embossed in regular gold embossing powder. The leaves were glued in to place and then I attached some black hemp and tied it into a knot. The smaller panel was then mounted with fun foam onto the larger panel.

For the panels with the leaf cut outs I wanted to create shaker cards. I heat embossed the sentiment (Lawn Fawn) onto a craft panel and also used some chunky gold embossing powder for the larger specks. I then foam mounted the panel with a piece of acetate in the front and filled it with green, red and gold sequins.

I also wanted to make this one into a shaker card. I did the same thing as with the card above, unfortunately, I forgot to mount the acetate before I mounted the foam tape *fail, smile* so I simply made it into a card with dimensions. I mounted some gold sequins on the front.

Light up the holidays - take 2

I made a second version of this shaker card (Light up the holidays - take 1). I colored the exact same way, the differences are;

• different background
• kitty and snowy hill are mounted inside the shaker
• different kind of sequins

Light up the holidays - take 1

I had the idea for this card in my head since I got that Lawn Fawn leafy tree backdrop die quite some time ago. Now it finally came into fruition.

I  colored the kitty with distress inks Scattered straw and Wild honey. The lights are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers. I haven't been able to get them to work very well lately. I have tried several watercolor papers but can't really get the color to move. So, I went back to distress inks which worked as I wanted. The lights in the trees are cut from the kitty image (just remove the kitty) and placed in the tree.

I cut the tree out of plain white cardstock and I used a patterned paper from Panduro as the backdrop. The snow is a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock cut with flag ends.

I cut a piece of transparency in A2 size and then mounted the hill, frame, kitty and lights on top of that. Then flipped it around to add doubled up foam tape. I used a power tool on the sides so that the sequins and stars would stick as little as possible to the sides. I placed all the shaker material inside the frame, removed the release paper and placed the background on top.

Never too old to play

I had stamped and colored several images from the "Newton Unwinds" stamp set and wanted to create some cards with them. I was surfing on Pinterest and came across this great layout and thought I would do something like that. After having colored Newton on the big ball of yarn with Zig clean color real brush markers, I created the background by doing some ink smooshing on a piece of old packaging. I smooshed Distress inks Shaded lilac, Spun sugar and Picked raspberry, sprayed it with some water and lay the transparency over the paper (Tim Holtz watercolor paper). I did that twice to get the coverage I wanted. After it had dried, I borrowed some of my daughters watercolor. She has a gorgeous gold glitter color in her set *smile*. I flicked that on to my background and then let it dry.

I wanted to create a diecut inlay frame and was thinking about maybe turning the whole thing into a shaker card. After die cutting the frame with the "Wonky stiched rectangle" from MFT, I decided to go for the shaker. I cut a rectangle in the middle with Hero Arts rectangle dies and then mounted the inside piece on a black card base. I also heat embossed the sentiment on to a banner that I cut with flag ends.

I then realized I needed some additional pieces so I stamped the yarn ball a couple of times and colored them and cut it out and glued them to the inside piece as well. (Note to self; Must get those dies to this stamp set, fuzzy cutting some of these images is hard!! *big smile*).

Then I glued Newton onto the frame which I had covered with a transparency. I lined the frame with two layers of foam tape. And now for the good part, picking what contents to have for your shaker. I choose some dark pink star confetti and some purple and irridescent sequins.

This is then the final result;

I used quite a lot of contents in my shaker since the area is quite large.

If you shake it behind Newton, you can see the 3 balls of yarn.

The sentiment really fits well here since this card will be going to an adult, shaking that shaker, you will feel more like a kid =)

Happy (boating) birthday

A friend of mine has a birthday coming up. He loves his sail boat so I thought I would incorporate that into a birthday card. I used a die from First Edition for the sail boat and paper pieced it with some patterned paper from Echo Park.

I then used a lot of Lawn Fawn *smile* and cut the waves, the frame and also used the new Happy happy happy stamp set to emboss the sentiment. I didn't have any stamp that looked like a seagull but found the "heat smoke" from the "On the mend" stamp set doubled as birds beautifully. There are 3 lines in that stamp but I only inked up two which made in to fairly "believable" birds.

The background is done with distress inks. I then turned the cards into shakers by adding foam tape to the frame and adding sequins to the inside. A couple of blue and clear rhinestones are also glued to the waves so they stay in place permanently.

The two shakers (really hard to photograph. The transparency really gives off a glare).

Det blev visst två julkort till...

Det blev visst två julkort till ändå. Så roligt att göra!

Fick inspiration till denna av ett kort jag såg på Pyssloteket *smile* i somras. Idén fastnade och till slut fick jag till det också. Bakgrunden i shakern är gjord med distress ink. Granen är en die från Marianne Design. Stiched hillside borders från Lawn Fawn. Newton är färglagd med distress inks också.

Fick inspiration till detta från Pinterest. Tyckte det var så cool att man hade embossat en del av kortet, skurit av och lagt in en annan färg emellan och sedan satt dit nederdelen. Kortet är kritvitt (bara lite dålig bild).

Till nästa omgång julkort ska jag göra fler som ovan men med mer dekoration som halvpärlor och stickles. Tror det kan bli himla fint!

Sending joy for the holidays

Såg en förlaga på Pinterest för ett år sedan och kunde inte låta bli att testa nu. Förlagan var inte ett skak-kort men det är ju klart att man måste testa.

Jag stansade först ut en "stiched rectangle" och gjorde sedan cirkelhål som kulor. Jag färgade sedan in bakgrunden med distress-inks där den skulle synas igenom på de olika kulorna. Jag satte sedan ett berg av skumtejp bakom och hällde i matchande paljetter och la på bakgrunden. Svårt att få det att passa perfekt. Stämplade sedan "sending joy for the holidays" från Lawn Fawn's underbara "Merry messages" med Versamark ink och heat embossade med vitt. Stansade även ut julkulshållare av silverglitterpapper och limmade även dit silvertråd som fästes på baksidan.

Shaker cards med julkulor med guldinlägg

Blev inspirerad av ett kort jag såg på Pinterest, som så många andra gånger *smile* och var bara tvungen att testa. Tänkte använda cirklar bara men så ramlade jag över detta die set från First Edition på Tradera och vann aktionen. De blev urläckra när man stansade ut i skinande guldpapper. Har även använt en annan die av okänt märke inköpt via en Facebook-grupp för scrapsaker.

Jag har först stansat ut i kortet med en Lawn Fawn Stiched rectangle och med julkulorna för att få hålstorleken. Sedan stansade jag ut julkulorna igen i guldpapper för att få inlägget. Gjorde sedan baksidan så att det kunde bli ett shakerkort och fyllde med guldpaljetter och guldstjärnekonfetti. Fäste sedan detta mot kortbasen och limmade sedan i guldinlägget på framsidan och dekorerade även med snören. Snöret och rosetten är gjort separat för att det ska gå enklare att fästa på kortet.

God Jul-diesen kommer från Rox stamps, även den utstansad i samma guldpapper.

Julkorts-shakers med renar

Blev så sugen på att göra dessa shaker-kort när jag såg en förlaga på Pinterest. De är gjorda med "fun foam" (mossgummi) som upphöjning istället för skumtejp vilket gör att alla paljetter inte fastnar så lätt. Stämplat och heat embossat. På kortet med noter är det även "Wink of Stella" på noterna så de glittrar duktigt.

Nu börjas det med julkorten

Ville testa att göra mer shaker cards och nu är det ju snart dags för julkorten så det är väl lika bra att börja tidigt. Jag stämplade bakgrunden med Versamark ink och heat embossade i vitt. Färgade sedan in med mini-ink blending tool med Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Chipped Saphire och Black Soot). Klippte ut en ram med hjälp av Lawn Fawn's small stiched borders och satte dit overhead-papper för att skapa fönstret. Fyllde sedan med innehåll av lite olika sorter och klistrade dit bakgrunden.

Framtill så har jag stämplat med en stämpel från October Afternoon på Lawn Fawns stiched hillside borders.

Lite att tänka på till nästa gång;

• Inte för mycket "gojs i kortet"
• Köra någon form av puder på insidan kortet så att inte paljetter med mera fastnar i skumtejpens sidor som också är klibbiga

Shaker cards med Tatty Teddy

Efter att ha sett video efter video på YouTube om shaker cards så var det äntligen min tur att testa.

Man kom ju på ganska många saker som man ska göra annorlunda till nästa kort som t.ex se till att neutralisera den delen av skumtejpen som kanske sticker fram lite i shaker-fönstret för annars så fastnar allt innehåll runt ramen... Men, det var kul att göra iallafall.

Pappren är från Me to you Sweet shop och stämpen är Tatty Teddy. Textstämplen kommer från Gummiapan och är gjord med vitt embossingpulver.

I skrivande stund så anländer det rosa kortet till sin mottagare. Grattis på födelsedagen Marie!

Vilket transparent papper använder man till Shaker-card?

Har sett så många fina shaker-cards på Pinterest och på YouTube men har hela tiden undrat vad man har använt för transparent "papper". På engelska så hänvisar de alltid till "acetate" vilket inte har varit helt lätt att hitta att köpa i Sverige.

Till slut så har jag nu kommit fram till vilket typ av "papper" som kan användas, gammalt traditionellt overhead-papper. Visade sig ju inte vara helt lätt att få tag på, vem 17 använder overhead idag, men till slut så kom Office Depot till räddningen. Där hittade jag ett maxi-paket med 100 papper. Nu kan det verkligen bli shaker-cards!

Någon som är intresserad av att köpa några stycken kan jag absolut sälja dem styckvis ;)
