Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 34 – My Favorite Place

This is my entry for this round of the Lawn Fawnatics challenge 34 which is all about "My favorite place". I love sunsets. Really. I have a very hard time tearing my eyes away from one. I also love kitty cats so that kind of decided the theme for this card.
I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set "Meow you doin'" for the cats and the sentiment. I used a Versamark pen to only get ink on the outside lines of the kitty so that it could look like they were staring away in the sunset. The hearts and clouds are from "Plane and simple" and are heat embossed on vellum. The sun is from "Out of this world", heat embossed in white on the background.

Distress inks for the background in the following colors;
Mustard seed
Wild honey
Picked raspberry
Festive berries
Salty ocean
Wilted violet

I tried to hide the adhesive behind the heat embossed lines on the vellum but that's easier said then done...!

Half the leaves are embossed in gold and the other half are cut from black cardstock.

The rest of the dies used here are all from Lawn Fawn;
Leafy tree backdrop
Stitched hillside borders
Cloud borders

Wedding mermaid popup box

A friend asked me to make a wedding card for a couple that likes partying and sun and swimming. She really liked the scalloped box popup card so I decided to go with the Lawn Fawn set "Mermaid for you" with a couple of drinks and sentiments from Newton's Nook Cocktail mixer stamp set.

Happy birthday kitties

Just loving the cute little cat agenda stamps from Mama Elephant. I wanted to use the grid window die with ink blending so I decided to use both positive and negative part of the die cut and this is the outcome;

Here I used the a white frame and put the ink blended negative pieces into it. The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn Tiny tags sentiments and Tiny tags sentiments birthday add-on. The background is inked in rainbow order, I tried to do the same with the kitties accessories as well =)

The sentiments are heat embossed in gold.

Here I used the positive grid window die cut of the inked background and put the kitties inside. I thought it looked a bit empty of the inside so the card base have been inked with a stencil of kitty paws from Newton's Nook. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Happy happy happy stamp set.

Altenew dahlia stencils

I totally fell in love with Altenew's Dahlia layering stencil and had to get it. I cut out some masks with a large post-it note pad (full stick) and could then easily mask off the flowers and leaves and use different colors. I used distress ink and an ink blending tool.
I cut the finished panel down a bit and layered it with a piece of black card stock. The stamped sentiment reads "Thanks so much" in Swedish and is from Slöjd-Detaljer. I also added some Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and some sequins from a Neat and Tangled pack.

The finished panel was cut with the 2nd largest rectangle die from a Hero Arts set. I also cut a black A2-sized panel with the largest rectangle die in that same set. I offset the panel to one corner for something different. The stamped sentiment reads "Thanks so much" in Swedish and is from Slöjd-Detaljer.

The finished panel was cut with the largest rectangle die from a Hero Arts set. The stamped sentiment reads "A big hug" in Swedish and is from Slöjd-Detaljer. I also added some sequins from a Neat and Tangled pack.

The finished panel was cut with the 2nd largest rectangle die from a Hero Arts set. I also cut a black strip of cardstock and attached it to the left side. The finished card is a bit smaller than an standard A2-sized card. The sentiment is die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

Newton is taking a bath

I received #happymail from Newton's Nook the other day with stamps and stencils. I decided to use them directly for this edition of the Inky Paws challenge which is a sketch challenge;
This is how my card turned out. I used stamps from Newton's Summer Vacation and the Ocean waves stencil. The window die is from My Favorite Things. I used Zig clean color real brush markers to color the images.

The window is mounted with foam tape for a little dimension. I added some clear droplets from Pretty Pink posh for some extra detail.

The scuba kitty also have some Spectrum Noir sparkle pen on them for some extra glitter.

Guest-DT for Pyssloteket, starting off with a trifold

I've been asked by my local craft store Pyssloteket to guest-DT for a little while. Feeling so grateful! My first post is today and I've made a trifold inspired by the lovely Nicole Sphor and I used the cute unicorn stamp set from My Favorite Things.

Trifold Newton birthday card

I was really inspired by a couple of cards I've seen in my Instagram feed the last couple of days. One of them is an inspiration card by Andrea for the current Inky Paws Challenge and the other is a really cute trifold by @craftawaywithme.

I wanted to make a trifold that had diecut holes for the main image which was mounted on the final panel. I went with the design by Andrea and then created the following card.

I usually make my card bases from 12x12 cardstock and then it's a little piece over measuring 12" by 3½". I used that left over piece as the cardbase for this. I started by scoring the card base at 4" and 8" and folding it. I had to cut a sliver off of the second panel to make it fold nicely. I then took the die and placed it on the folded card and ran it through my Big Shot. It cut through the first panel and made a huge impression in the second and a smaller impression on the last panel. I replaced the die on the second panel only and ran that through again and then had two diecut holes.

Then I got to inking the second panel. I chose Distress ink Seedless preserves and Picked raspberry. I also used a star stencil. A bit of Post-it tape helped protect my back panel.

I then wanted to add some gold sparkle so I used Rangers Gold tinsel embossing powder (inking through the stencil with Versamark). I also stamped the front panel with the confetti stamp from Newton's Nook Newton's Birthday Bash in purple, pink and grey ink from Lawn Fawn.

The inside panel also got some ink. The left and right panel I used the same stamp as on the front with the same colors. The middle panel I used a diecut cloud stencil (Lawn Fawn) and the distress inks once again.

I then colored the cute Newton with his balloon with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I also used a sparkle pen from Spectrum Noir to blend the balloon. I have also added some gold tinsel embossing powder to the front as well as the sentiment. The kitty is die cut and then glued to the bottom panel (through the second one in order to line them up correctly).

This is the finished result;

And this is what it looks like when you fold it out completely.

Set of birthday party invitation cards

Soon my little boy turns 4 and it's time to create some birthday party invitations. I wanted something that was fairly easy to create lots of so I opted for this;

I started by cutting a panel with Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die and then I used two different balloon dies from Lawn Fawn. The string also comes from the same set. I then ink blended directly on the card base and chose two different hues of green, purple, blue and aqua (distress ink). I mounted the panel directly on the card base and the glued the little string. I finished off with the sentiment "Kalas" which means party in Swedish which is heat embossed in gold and a black strip of card stock.

The inside will be a pop-up fold where I used Lawn Fawn watercolor wishes paper that match the balloon color. To see how to do cards with that fold, check out Nina Maries video on YouTube.

I'm entering these cards in the card set Lawnfawnatics challenge.

A little birdie told me...

Using the super cute "Newton's birthday flutter" from Newton's Nook I created this card. Tons of masking for the balloons but it was fun.

I used Zig clean color real brush markers to color the birds and balloons. The clouds were made with distress ink with a diecut cloud border (using a Lawn Fawn cloud border stencil).

The black and white is washi tape (from IKEA no less *smile*)

This is the inside of the card;

Shoot for the stars pull tab slider

I've been wanting to use the Lawn Fawn Out of this world stamp set for a while and all of a sudden two great challenges comes along that gets you moving. Lawn Fawnatics is running a "rainbow" theme and The Male Room craft challege is having a space theme so this is what I came up with;
The background is done with distress inks in various colors. The images are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers. The sentiments and stars are heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I also used some Stickles for a little extra bling. When you pull that tab...

...up comes our little astronaut. The string is just taped on the back of the images and follows along as you pull the tab. All dies are Lawn Fawn; Slide on over to create the slider, Puffy cloud borders for the clouds and the Stitched rectangle for the panels.

Here's the card in action;

Persian motifs with perfect pearls

I wanted to try heat embossing on craft and the paint with Perfect pearls following the inspiration from a video by Jennifer McGuire. I used the Altenew Persian motifs stamp set.
Here is used the Perfect pearls colour Copper mixed with water and then painted on. The diecut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the stamped one from Mama Elephant.

Same idea, only different sentiment and matted with a dark brown panel. The diecut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the stamped one from Mama Elephant.

I of course also did a couple with Distress Oxide inks and then painted the flowers with water and lifted the ink. After they were dry I went back in with Perfect pearls mixed with water.

The diecut sentiments is from Lawn Fawn and the stamped one from Mama Elephant.
